About NMHDO

New Millennium Hope Development Organization/NMHDO/ is an indigenous, non– governmental, non– profit making, humanitarian organization established in 2007 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia by a group of dedicated individuals from diverse social and economic background. The organization was previously registered at the Ministry of Justice under registration number 3018; it is now re-registered and licensed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice Charities and Societies Agency as an Ethiopian Residents charity in accordance with the Charities and Societies proclamation No. 621/2009 by registration No. 0539.

Vision

  • NMHDO aspires to see a new Ethiopian society in which the needs and aspirations of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Girls and Women are fulfilled.

Mission

  • NHMDO exists to ensure that Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), destitute Girls and Women have access to basic services through working closely with communities, local administration, CBOS, like-minded NGOs and GOs and other stakeholders.

Intervention areas 

  • Our organization’s intervention areas are: Tigray, Amhara, Somalia and Gambela Regional State.

Achievements to-date

  • Implemented 53 project targeting women, girls and children.
  • Supported over 1047 OVCs through education and other initiatives
  • Addressed a total of 4514 women and their families through IGA initiatives and improved their livelihoods.
  • Improved the livelihoods of over 1280 poor women through agriculture based livelihood diversification involving the production of high value crops and small scale irrigation.
  • Rehabilitated over 100ha of Mountain
  • Established ICT center in High School
